Birthdays and Baseball

Today was my birthday, Brodie and Joe got me some really cool gifts. My favorite present was photo editing notepad that hooks up to my computer. We had a very relaxing day with just the three of us, then for dinner we went to a new trendy restaurant down on the Wilmington River Front. After dinner we caught a Blue Rocks game. It was a great day and I am a lucky girl to have two guys that love to spoil me.
This morning I got my favorite, edible arrangement. Way better than flowers

In between innings they had a monkey riding a dog while they herded sheep.

A Day With Thomas

Today we spent the day out in Amish country at the Strausburg Railroad station. Thomas the train came for his once a year visit. The place was completely packed with little boys all dressed in Thomas the Train clothes. We went with our friends Tracy and Taven, and the Dominguez family. Brodie had so much fun hanging out with the big boys.

He Makes Me Smile

Brodie is becoming such a big boy, and the older he gets the bigger his personality gets. He is the perfect cure for any bad day, bad mood, bad anything. All you have to do is watch him and he is sure to make you smile.
Wearing his boots and chaps

Next to the farmers market was a field of miniature horses

Recently he has been running every where, he thinks that he is really fast
How could you not crack a smile when you see this

In the morning he likes to snuggle in this sleeping bag and mattress, or more commonly known as a pillow and pillowcase

Milestones

Today we reached a huge milestone in Brodie's life. Earlier we went to the doctors for another post surgery appointment. Everything looked even better than we could have hoped for. And the best part, we got the official OK to take Brodie off all of his meds. So now, for the first time since Brodie was two days old he is completely medication free. We thought that Brodie deserved a little celebration/ceremony for getting rid of the meds. So after dinner tonight, when we would usually be getting his meds ready we packed them all up and let Brodie throw them in the garbage. It was definitely a milestone.

Seriously this cat deserves some kind of award
She puts up with this everyday
Bye Bye meds
and syringes

Hurry up daddy

Never again
watching him cheer after dumping the meds made me tear up. This kid definitely knows what he has been through and what tossing that medication meant
And then he celebrated with ice cream

Escaping the Heat

The Last couple of days have been so hot and humid that it makes you just want to find some water and jump in. Joe knew of a little spot next to a marina that is only twenty minutes from where we live.
Brodie loves playing in the sand
Some how I forgot all of Brodie's sand toys at home, so he had to make due with some cups that I had in the car

His favorite thing is jumping up really high and splashing me

Brodie is the ultimate animal lover, unfortunately animals don't always feel that way about him. However that has not discouraged him from learning how to call all animals. Recently he master the Elephant call, you know just in case he happens to run into one. (if you pause the music at the bottom you can hear him).

Brodie's It

Here are some videos of Brodie playing at Delaware Park. My mom has been begging me to get a video of him running around with the girls. Every weekend Delaware park is packed with kids, they have a really big grove area with picnic benches, playground and a sand pit. The kids love it, we are really lucky to be racing here at Delaware Park because it is such a kid friendly place. Brodie loves playing with the older kids, and the girls all love Brodie. They have invented a game called "Come get me Brodie" I am pretty sure that the object of the game is to surround Brodie and yell "Come get me". Then Brodie runs up and pushes them, the girls all giggle and Brodie is just happy to be pushing people without getting in trouble.

Free Samples

Today Brodie and I went to Costco, to stock up on meat now that it is BBQ season. Much to my surprise, today just happened to be free sample day. For those of you who may not know, free sample day was like a holiday to Brittany and me. We used to go to Costco for lunch and eat for free filling ourselves up with all their samples and washing it down with whatever energy drink they were trying to push. Now that Britt is in Minnesota, I thought those days were over. That was until today, when I discovered that my son has the same appreciation for free food as I do. We ate pizza, hot dogs, quiche, burritos, chips, and cheese. It was great. Brodie was so into it that he was spotting the stands before I was and pointing while shouting "mama Peas, mama peas" which is his way of saying please. I couldn't have been more proud.
