Breeders Cup

Last week we had the opportunity to travel out to California and ride Don't Tell Sophia in the Breeder's Cup Distaff.  She ran such a great race and finished second, we were so proud of Joe and Sophia.  Jason, June and Ryan came up from the desert and stayed the whole time with us.  It was so nice to be around them and get to snuggle sweet little Ryan.  Now thanks to her both of my boys say they want a sister.  We also got to see a lot of Brandi and her adorable little family.  I know we went out there for work, but we had such a great time that it really just felt like a vacation.

The boys just couldn't get enough of baby Ryan, especially Brodie.  Here are some of the pictures of them just loving her

Halloween

This year Halloween was so much fun. Since we were already in Southern California for the breeders cup, we took advantage of having family close by.  We spent the whole day with Jason, June and Ryan, and Brandi's beautiful little family John, Simon and Charlotte.  It was to date my favorite Halloween ever.  The hotel we were staying at was booked only for Breeders Cup contenders, so while they were all dressed up in their finest to attend after parties.  We strolled through the lobby like this, and I wouldn't have changed it for the world.
and yes, the Hulk stayed perfectly in character all night

Half way through the night they declared themselves Best Friends Forever.  It was just like me and Brandi when we were that age.

Turtle Power

This year the boys giant birthday-palooza was once again a huge event.  Brodie turned six and my little Luke turned three.  I asked them what kind of party they wanted, and they agreed on Ninja Turtles.  I really didn't want to do a generic ninja turtle party so I decided that I would make everything, it would look like ninja turtles with a homemade twist.
We used Chinese lanterns for decorations instead of balloons
I made forty turtle costumes for all the kids coming to their party
My boys approved of the costumes

we made ninja turtle cupakes

and even our own green punch AKA Mutant OOZE
We got our traditional roasted pig
and lots of other goodies

Once again we got lucky with the weather and the kids bounced all day
I'm pretty sure they were all happy by the time they left
