Birthday Parties

On Saturday my little Luke turned one.  He is a really big fan of Elmo, so we took his to Sesame Place and made reservations for him to have breakfast with Elmo.  He loved it.  The next day we had a giant joint birthday party for Brodie and Luke, since Joe is going to be riding in Keenland.
Waiting at the gates to get in to Sesame

 Meeting super Grover

Big Bird greeted us for breakfast
He had no fear of the characters.  He asked Elmo to hold him

 Brodie loved the Count
Luke sneaked in a hug with Murry

All morning Luke got birthday kisses from Brodie
After breakfast we hit the rides

I couldn't believe Brodie went on this ride all by himself
Then we went to Elmo Live
Brodie got picked out of the crowd to dance on stage

 He's fearless
The boys bouncy house for their party
 The theme was Super Heros
Gabi said that this is how Captain America walks

Instead of party favors all the kids got to make their own cape.  Brodie said he wanted to be Sharkboy.  I was proud of my Shark cape
 Luke's batman cape

Brodie's big present was a 110cc four wheeler
who do you think likes it more, Joe or Brodie?

Manure Expert

Today when I picked up Brodie from pre-school, his teacher said that Brodie had to tell me about what he did today.  Immediately I thought, "oh boy, here it comes."  I was certain that she was going to tell me about something awful Brodie had done.  Then she started cracking up and could barely get out the rest of the story.  So Apparently, the school redid the play ground over the weekend and laid out new tan bark and Mulch.  Brodie's class was going out to recess when Brodie spotted the mulch.  At this point he instructed his classmates to freeze, because they were about to step in Manure.  Brodie's teacher explained that it was just mulch and everyone was fine.  Brodie replied, "It's Manure, I'm an expert.  I help Meema all the time, and that's horse Manure."  His teacher tried again to convince Brodie that it wasn't but he just couldn't believe her.  So eventually she found him a rake.  She said that he told her, "your suppose to use a pitch fork, but this is OK."  Then he spent his entire recess raking Manure away from the playground.  I couldn't keep a straight face when I heard this and all I could reply was that, he is one heck of a stall cleaner.  You have taught him well Meema.  On another note, Brodie started playing soccer and here are some pictures from his first practice.
He is wearing my old cleats that I wore when I was four
I was surprised at how good his ball control was

Pre-School

Last week Brodie started Pre- School.  I was a little worried about what he would think of it, but it was his idea to go.  All summer long he just started randomly telling people that he was going to go to school.  I tried to tell him that he wasn't old enough yet, but he told me that he was almost a grown up and that he was going to school.  So I signed him up.  He loves going to school and says that he has lots of friends.  On Tuesday when we picked him up, his teacher told us that Brodie got an official job.  He gets to ring the school bell.  Brodie said its because he's awesome.  This kid cracks me up daily.
first day of school, the nerves set in a little just before we left the house

Joe took the morning off so that he could walk Brodie in
Waiting with him in the hallway

He loved that he had his own cubby
By the way he completely dressed himself, it took a while for him to settle on the right outfit, but he was sure that everyone in school liked spider man

Since Brodie has been such a good boy lately and since he is doing so well in school we surprised him with ticket to see How To Train Your Dragon Live.  It was a great show, I highly recommend going to see it if it comes to your town
