Christmas Card Out Takes

Well, if anyone knows me, they will know that there are few things that I value more than Christmas Cards.  And every year I try and ensure that my Christmas Card is perfect when I send it out.  Achieving that goal is not so simple with my group of comedians.  Over the years I have learned two simple things.  First, take a deep breath, and second, keep snapping pictures.  As frustrated as I might get during the process, I have often learned that it is the Out-takes I become particularly fond of.  After all they are only little once and the out-takes are a much better example of their personality.
Mind you my lasts words were "Stand still and smile"

Thank goodness we were able to put together a proper looking chistmas  card of what appears to be well behaved children

And even Halo made it on the back of the card before the final edit

Snow Days!!!

For the past four years, our winter months have been Miami 80 degrees days, beach toys and bike rides.  This year we decided it was time for a change.  Joe rode at Oaklawn this winter instead of Gulfstream.  Oaklawn is in Arkansas, which means it was close enough to commute to, for me and the boys.  Also Brodie got to stay in his little school, which he loves, and we got to stay home!  It also means that the boys got to experience something they never have before, SNOW!  Turns out they love it.  We had an exceptionally cold winter this year, so the boys had lots of days off from school, built lots of snowmen and played, played, played.  When they weren't playing, they were sledding,  snow boarding, and building snow forts.  Overall, it was amazing.  Since I grew up in California, it was my first real winter too.
Our first snow came just before Thanksgiving
Luke is not quite as excited as the rest of us

 Max was an immediate fan

We took the boys to a local place to go tubing

for most of the winter our backyard looked like this

our little path we kept clear to the garage

and the driveway we cleared daily

Our guest bathroom turned into our "drying room"

and Brodie more than pulled his weight shoveling, turns out this little guys is a machine when it comes to clearing the driveway

he also mastered his little snowboard.  Next year we are going to have to find a real hill for this little guy.  He had mastered ours in a few attempts.
